Box breathing is a breathing technique that can help decrease stress in your body.
Also referred to as square breathing, box breathing is a deep breathing technique aimed at slowing your breathing. The method works by preoccupying your mind as you count to four in four different stages:
Inhale deeply for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, exhale slowly for 4, and pause for 4. Repeat until a comfortable, slow pattern is achieved.
This simple, powerful breath technique helps relax your rhythm, allowing you to calm your mind and improve focus.
